Fairey Swordfish

Gateguards are proud to have been selected with the privilege of building a full size replica Fairey Swordfish memorial, for the Channel Dash Association.

The replica Swordfish of 825 Squadron will be installed at the former RAF Manston and will serve as a multi-service Memorial to the men and combined services that took part in the action on the 12th February 1942 in the Straits of Dover.

From the 18 young men that took there 6 Swordfish of 825 Naval Air Squadron up against the largest German battle fleet ever assembled only 5 survived the attack and all aircraft were lost.

The replica will be a fitting tribute to there bravery and courage and Gateguards are honoured to be a part the memorial process. For more information and history of the Channel Dash Action . Mustang P51D

Gateguards are currently expecting an order to a supply a replica P51D for a memorial in the U.S.A. Please keep an eye on the news page for updates on this project.

Spitfire Mk 2

Work is continuing on the prototype airframe with the prospect of approvals to build a flying, Merlin powered Spit. A CAA approved designer / engineer is still being sort, any offers will be much welcomed:

A complete Airframe has been located with all the odds and sods and a rebuild back to flying condition will be undertaken in the next few months. Check the Work in Progress page for the rebuild.
